Education & Democracy United (EDU) is a nationwide alliance of educators, students, and advocates for academic freedom of speech, thought, and action. We founded EDU in March 2025 on the belief that education and democracy are intrinsically linked. Our goal is to create a platform for collaborative action and dialogue to address challenges facing academic freedom today.

MISSION
The purpose of Education & Democracy United is to grow and support local autonomous groups (EDU member chapters) on campuses across the US which can represent the interests of young people in coordination with others across the country. We build, support, cultivate, and coordinate local movements around a shared mission to protect student free speech, academic freedom, and civic engagement on campuses nationwide.
